Housing finance consists of lending products and complementary business lines such as transaction banking, derivatives and capital market solutions. Over the past 12 months MUFG has established lending relationships with housing associations including Anchor, Family Mosaic and, most recently, BPHA.

Sanjay will be responsible for taking the business to the next level, deepening established relationships and building new ones. He will help drive the long-term strategy, ensuring a robust risk framework is in place across the new housing finance business.

Sanjay will begin his new role at the beginning of November and will report to Robert Bartlett, Executive Director within the Structured Finance Office for EMEA.

Sanjay has nine years' experience in the sector, joining MUFG from the Homes and Communities Agency – the Social Housing Regulator's Private Finance Team. He previously worked for Lloyds Banking Group.

"We are delighted to have Sanjay join our organisation, he brings a wealth of sector experience to MUFG, having successfully worked both at the regulator and one of the leading banks within the sector. His impressive record of relationship building with clients will contribute significantly to the continued growth of MUFG's Housing Finance business within the UK," said Robert Bartlett
