MUFG's flagship charity partner, MyBnk, has won the Guardian's annual Charity Award for its outstanding services to young people. Beating thousands of charities that applied for the award, MyBnk was one of five charities presented with the award at The Guardian's headquarters in December. It was a landmark achievement for the charity, which cited its partnerships with corporates, such as MUFG, as being essential to its future plans in helping young people around the UK.
MUFG entered into a two-year partnership worth £100,000 in September with specific focus on Islington and Tower Hamlets, MUFG's two immediate localities in London. We collaborated on more than 16 sessions so far, varying from teaching younger students about managing pocket money, to teaching college students about the realities of university and how to manage student loans.
Andy Jameson, Chair of the CSR Committee and sponsor for MyBnk, said:
“This achievement highlights the importance of MyBnk's mission to increase financial education amongst young people."
