MUFG EMEA today announces the appointment of Caroline Oehm as Managing Director, Head of Insurance Coverage, Financial Institutions in EMEA, reflecting the firm's strengthening commitment to expanding its global coverage of the non-banking financial sector such as insurance and pensions firms.

Caroline brings more than 18 years of experience across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, most recently as Head of Insurance (UK), Financial Institutions, at DBS Bank in London, where she led the bank's UK and European insurance strategy. Prior to DBS, Caroline spent 12 years at Lloyds Bank in senior insurance coverage roles in New York and London, followed by over 2 years at AON where she set the strategy for a global, tech-enabled advisory platform for insurers and reinsurers.

In her new role at MUFG, Caroline will lead and broaden the coverage of non-banking firms, focusing on insurance and pension clients across EMEA and play a key role in accelerating the growth of MUFG's EMEA Financial Institutions Group (FIG).

Caroline will report to Matteo Ferrario, Managing Director, Head of FIG, Sponsored Coverage and Leveraged Finance, EMEA.

Matteo Ferrario, Head of FIG, Sponsored Finance and Leveraged Finance MUFG EMEA, welcomed the appointment:

“The Financial Institutions Group is a key strategic focus for MUFG in EMEA, and Caroline's extensive experience in the insurance sector, combined with her international perspective, will add significant value for our clients. Her appointment underlines our continued investment in strengthening our FIG platform and is part of a broader, long-term build-out of our capabilities across the region. We are delighted to welcome her to the firm."

Caroline Oehm, Head of Insurance, Financial Institutions, MUFG EMEA, said:

“MUFG's Financial Institutions Group has a clear ambition to build a leading franchise in EMEA, and I'm delighted to be joining the firm at this important stage of that journey. Non-banking financial institutions are navigating significant change, from regulatory developments to portfolio diversification, and MUFG's global network and balance sheet puts it in a strong position to support them. I look forward to working with colleagues across the region to build long-term partnerships with our clients."

Caroline's appointment follows the arrival of Milena Sheahan, Managing Director, Head of UK Speciality Lenders and UK and International Banks, within the FIG EMEA team, who joined MUFG in January 2026.
