MUFG has today announced the appointment of Beate Zwijnenberg as Chief Operations Officer for MUFG Bank Europe N.V (MBE). Beate will be responsible for the management and development of the bank's operations, technology, middle office, general affairs and operational resilience functions.
Beate brings over 25 years of experience in financial services, focused on ensuring efficiency and resilience in the fields of operations and technology. Most recently she held the role of Chief Information Officer at ING Bank where she led IT strategy and operations, and digital initiatives across Finance, Risk, Financial Crime and Fraud Prevention, while working closely with key leading regulators including the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) and the European Central Bank (ECB).
Beate will report into Harm Bots, Head of EU and CEO and President of MUFG Bank Europe as well as Yoshi Mori, Chief of Staff, MUFG EMEA. She will sit on the Management Board for MUFG Bank Europe. She will be based in Amsterdam.
