Takanori (Taka) Sazaki will become Regional Executive of EMEA and Head of the UK Branch*, and Chris Kyle will be appointed CEO of MUFG Securities (EMEA)*. The appointments succeed John Winter, currently CEO for MUFG in EMEA, who is retiring from MUFG after 40 years in the banking industry.
Taka returns to his former role as Regional Executive of EMEA from Singapore, where he is currently Regional Executive for APAC. Taka has vast experience in the financial services industry, with over 30 years at MUFG across Asia, the U.S. and EMEA.
Chris Kyle, currently CFO for EMEA, joined MUFG in 2014 with a career spanning senior roles in Finance, Markets, Logistics and International Banking at firms such as RBS and Barclays. Chris has exceptional experience and knowledge of MUFG, and as CEO of MUFG Securities (EMEA), will lead the activities of this important entity, while ensuring that it fulfils its role in the delivery of the EMEA strategy in a safe and sound manner.
Philip Roberts, Head of Global Corporate & Investment Banking EMEA, assumes the additional role of Deputy Regional Executive along with Hidefumi (Hide) Yamamura, currently Chief Operating Officer for EMEA.
Philip and Hide will work closely with Harm Bots, newly appointed President & CEO of MUFG Bank (Europe) N.V.*, to further leverage MUFG's capabilities to drive business growth across continental Europe and create and shape an effective and operationally sound business in the region.
