MUFG today announces the appointment of Burak Kaya as Head of Global Corporates and Financial Institutions in Turkey.

Based in Istanbul, Burak's primary focus will be to develop and take the lead for MUFG's strategy with non-Japanese Corporates and Financial Institutions headquartered or with a presence in Turkey.

Reporting to Masatoshi Ban, President of MUFG Bank Turkey, Burak will also closely work with the EMEA Emerging Markets team, led by Christopher Marks, alongside colleagues from MUFG's Corporate Banking division across the region.

Masatoshi Ban, President of MUFG Bank Turkey, said:

"We at MUFG are proud of our long-standing presence in Turkey, serving many of the country's strongest corporates and banks.

"As Turkey's economy continues to grow, we look forward to more opportunities to support our clients and their projects in the coming years."

Sébastien Rozès, Head of Corporate Banking for MUFG in EMEA added:

"As MUFG continues to strengthen our offering for corporate clients internationally, ensuring we have knowledgeable and experienced leaders at the forefront is vital.

"Burak will be able to leverage his extensive local and international experience to lead our Corporate and Investment Banking franchise in Turkey, which is core to our emerging markets strategy in EMEA."

Burak joins from Türk Ekonomi Bankası (TEB/BNP Paribas), where he was Head of Corporate Client Coverage, and transformed the CIB franchise into a market leading platform in the country.

Prior to TEB, Burak worked for RBS in various positions in Istanbul and in London and was Head of Corporate Client Coverage in Turkey prior to joining TEB in 2015. He has also worked for ABN Amro and Citi earlier in his career.
