Between 1 - 30 September, more than 700 colleagues from nine offices across the MUFG EMEA region got involved in the annual event. They took part in a wide range of physical challenges in a bid to collectively cover the distance between Johannesburg and London via the MUFG offices in the region – a total of 21,525km.

The team so far exceeded this expectation covering an incredible 52,638km and raising more than £77,000 for charity partners in the process.

Our charity partners across the region are involved in a range of activities from environmental sustainability to education. The additional income will empower these great organisations to be a force for good at the heart of our communities.

Highlights of the month included the annual Fitprints for Good 5k run, which saw nearly 274 MUFG colleagues, clients, and their families take on an iconic route through the streets of London. Daly Thompson, Olympic gold medallist and ambassador for charity partner Laureus Sport for Good, was on hand to start the race and cheer participants over the finish line.

Another 42 colleagues from MUFG offices in the Netherlands, France, and the UK took on the London to Paris cycle challenge. The teams came together over three gruelling days to encourage and support each other as they covered 320km each on route to the Eiffel Tower.

Furthermore, colleagues across EMEA joined forces to tackle global waste on World-clean up day. This was the perfect opportunity to keep communities clean and ensure that green space continues to flourish while of course covering some kms.

Many of the offices also took the opportunity to participate in activities alongside their charity partners. This included the team in Milan who organised a fun run with 36 young people from their partner L'Amico Charly.

MUFG is committed to responding to the changing needs in communities across EMEA. Fitprints for Good, our month-long fundraiser, is a testament to what can be achieved when teams unite to maximise their impact.

Zinab Aldaraji, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility EMEA said:

"I am so humbled by the enormous sense of team spirit that surrounds our annual Fitprints campaign. Seeing everyone out and about again, wearing their MUFG tee-shirts with such pride and raising funds for our charity partners, is one of the most rewarding experiences of the year.

"On behalf of the MUFG CSR Team and our champions and our MUFG charity partners, thank you to everyone who took part!"
